M. Antoinette Walker, MS, LMHCA, SUDP
Mental Health Counselor, Substance Use Disorder Counselor & Neurotherapist
I am a clinician that consistently advocates for the client. As a result, I am passionate about assuring that the client receives excellent care. I am empathetic toward the needs of the client to address ongoing mental health and substance use concerns. I desire to reduce stigma associated with symptoms of mental health and substance use through education and neurotherapy. I have an eclectic approach to counseling, including optimizing brain health. Some of the interventions that I use are Cognitive Behavioral Therapy, Narrative Therapy, Motivational Interviewing, Reality Therapy, and Neurofeedback.
I am a graduate of Walden University where I earned a Master of Science in Clinical Mental Health Counseling. Further, I received a Bachelor of Arts in Political Science from Prairie View A&M University. I have experience helping the substance use population at inpatient and outpatient facilities, as well as correctional centers. I work with individuals and groups to address symptoms of anxiety, depression, trauma, and co-occurring disorders. Currently, I am in the certification process for neurofeedback through Biofeedback Certification International Alliance (BCIA).
