How many sessions will it take?
It is not possible to predict this. We monitor symptoms at each session and we typically run a progress QEEG every 20 sessions.
We are trying to change physiology. Some of the factors that determine the number of sessions include:
- How dysregulated is the brain when we start?
- What factors are contributing to the dysregulation, such as an immune condition, a physical injury, continuing to operate in a high stress environment, poor nutrition, poor exercise habits?
- How much work is being done to commit to change in between sessions?
How frequently do I need to come to the office?
We find that clients make the best progress when they make appointments for 2-3 times a week. Progress is also accelerated when clients commit to working on homework between sessions.
What do I need to bring at my first appointment?
Our office manage will provide you with a number of consent and intake forms that we will need to have on file to get started. You will also need a form of payment.
How long will my appointments be?
The initial intake lasts an hour. The follow-up assessments can take as long as 3-4 hours, depending on the number of tests to be run. Each appointment to implement your treatment plan lasts 50-60 minutes.
Where can I park?
Please see the locations section of the website
What is the cost per session?
Please contact our office manager to get a copy of our New Client Packet as costs vary per service and per clinician. In general, our clinical (non-forensic) rates range from $150-$175/hour and we charge for time spent on each case.
Where can I have records from my other providers sent?
Please contact our office manage for HIPAA-compliant forms of transfer.
Can you request records from my other providers?
Yes. Please contact our office manager to obtain the forms required to process your request.
What testing will I need to complete?
This varies by individual according to what we discuss during the intake session and whether you are seeking psychotherapy, neurofeedback, biofeedback, or a combination.
What happens if I miss my appointment?
If you provide a 48-hour notice, it is no problem. If you forget to cancel or if you cancel the day of the appointment, you will be charged for the hour.
What happens if I run late for my appointment?
With Seattle traffic and downtown construction, this can be a problem and we understand. On the other hand, we need to run on time because there are clients scheduled after you.
Please call or email us to let us know when you think you will arrive. We can still fit in your session if you are running as much as 20 minutes late. After that, it will not be possible and you should reschedule with our office manager.
Can I use my QEEG data obtained somewhere else?
If you have EEG data in EDF format collected in eyes open and eyes closed conditions, and if it is less than six months old, we can reprocess this data with our analysis system. This will save you the cost of data collection, but we will still need to charge you to process the data into a training protocol and to write a report containing your treatment plan.
